Reminder to all providers, effective 1/1/2021 changes to Evaluation and Management codes 99201-99205 &99211-99215 will go into effect.  There are some important facts to remember when choosing your codes under the new guidelines

• Only E/M codes in the ranges 99201-99205 & 99211-99215 are affected
• While history and exam will not be used to determine the code they are still an important part of the encounter
• Documentation must support the medical necessity of the encounter
• Providers can choose a level based on Medical Decision Making or Time
