Role Overview:
As a Medical Biller, you’ll ensure timely and accurate billing and collections, maximizing reimbursement and maintaining strong relationships with clients, payers, and internal teams.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Works under the direction of the Financial Systems Administrator. Assists with updates and system/billing requirements needed to maintain the practice management software and generates reports based on client specifications. Performs complete and accurate billing services to assure policies, guidelines and protocols are being adhered to while obtaining optimum efficiencies in a cost-effective manner as well as meeting all client expectations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate closely with the Financial Systems Administrator on the advanced maintenance, configuration, and enhancement of our specialized medical billing/Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) systems.
- Provide expert first-level support to finance and billing users, diagnosing and resolving system-related inquiries, and guiding them on best practices and optimal feature utilization within medical billing workflows.
- Assist in complex data extraction, validation, and reconciliation processes from medical billing systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy for critical reporting and analysis, particularly for claims and reimbursements. Familiarity with associated file types, i.e., HL7, CSV, etc.
- Actively participate in the design, testing, and implementation of new system functionalities, upgrades, and integrations, ensuring seamless operation and compliance with healthcare billing regulations.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, user guides, and deliver effective training sessions to finance and billing teams, explaining technical concepts and medical billing system functionalities clearly.
- Proactively identify and propose opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements within medical billing systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
- 5+ years of progressive experience demonstrating solid knowledge of revenue cycle management in a medical billing role or 3+ years in a similar role within a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel. (complex formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
- Knowledge of medical billing processes (e.g., ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), general medical and surgical terminology and healthcare regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, CMS guidelines).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with ability to interpret complex healthcare financial data.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in both financial data and system configurations, particularly for billing and claims.
- Superior communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to explain complex financial, technical, and medical billing concepts clearly to target audience.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment.
- Proactive, curious, and eager to continuously learn and master new financial technologies and healthcare industry best practices.
Compensation: $26.00 – $28.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)this is a non-exempt position
